Life, it teaches us endless lessons. If we pay attention we can really learn but only after it sticks us where it really hurts. Many things have transpired since I last posted on this and to be honest, I forgot the existence of this blog diary until recently. It's become that long lost relative or friend that you meant to call but never did. But of course, as with any lesson, we pick and choose which we use day to day or what our favorite subjects are. All lessons are good, but some will appeal to us more than others. I hope that someday I can really practice the things I know are true but it'll take a lot of growing up on my part to be the bigger person. I am not ready. Not by a long shot but when I do, I'll be sure to remember to catch up with you, maybe.
Until next time.

Friendships
7/27/2010 12:15 am
As I wait for the caffeine work its way out of my system I cannot help but remember friends in my life who I've lost contact with, some on purpose others due to time. I remember one friend in particular who I've recently cut off from my life. She was someone who I was able to talk to openly but there was always something that was missing. I realized when I was going through a rough patch with my husband why the friendship was not a good one for me; I couldn't talk to her about my problems. Isn't that one of the major purposes of having a friend? A confidant? A girlfriend whom you are to share important milestones with? I was not able to do this things with her and that is when I decided to end it. Often times, after speaking to her, I would feel emotionally drained that my husband would ask why I am still talking to her. I reply with 'but she is my friend' I still feel troubled by it but I think of it this way; at least I don't have to lay awake at night pondering what is wrong with me and this friendship, I know this time that it is the caffeine.
Have you ever had this kind of friendship?

Things I've learned so far
1. Mistakes will happen, learn from them
2. Never, ever, under any circumstance, shop at Costco or any supermarket hungry. Ever
3. Always pee before leaving the building cause there is nothing worse than needing to go without a bathroom in sight.
4. There is no such thing as having "a little piece of chocolate" because there will be a little more, and more, and more....
5. A great haircut is very difficult to come across even bringing in a picture will not help.
6. A great hair day will never happen unless your hair cooperates with you.
7. Have conviction and opinion and stay strong.
8. Listen to what people mean, not what they say
9. Mom taught me many things and I now know why as I raise my own daughter the value of the lessons
10. Get to know yourself and stop worrying about other people

Seattle Weather
7/21/2010
The day started out like a typical Seattle morning; gloomy, overcast and a little chilly. By the afternoon, I asked my colleague how the weather was outside, she gave me the affirmative that it was in fact sunny. You see, I work in a basement office with no windows to the outside. The AC is always on, and I mean always, which explains why I dress like a bag lady all the time eventhough the weather projects 90 for the day. I can never tell what the weather will be like so yes, I do put on layers and layers of clothes. I often wear dresses with tights or jeans with a sweater over a jacket or vest and of course, my wardrobe staple; the scarf. I cannot leave home without it.
Lesson: Never leave home without your scarf because it has many uses.
Totally random, I know but I have to cook and I just wanted to try what this blogging is all about.
